So the Twilight series has taken the world by storm since it first came out in libraries as novels... Even more so when it was turned into movies! I always made fun of my sister for being in love with the books and movies because they seemed so silly. A girl falling in love with a vampire? No way. Not cool at all!
One day, bored and alone at home, I watched the very first Twilight movie - and I fell in love, just like every other teenage girl in the USA. Ever since then I have been in theatres on opening week to see each new movie as it comes out. I was most excited to see the recent movie, Breaking Dawn.
This isn't really a movie review, but more of some interesting news I came across not only on the internet, but physically. I saw the movie with my boyfriend, and it was awesome! Well, until it came to the scene where the werewolves all come together to discuss the birth of Bella's baby. I wont ruin anything for you, but there were flashes of red and white lights along with layered images and sounds. A very "trippy" experience as some might say. The same happened during the birthing scenes.
I was whispering into my boyfriend's ear, telling him that the scenes reminded me of the types of things I see when I have seizures... and then I started to have some! No serious Grand Mal seizures, only simple partial. However, I had enough to make me wonder if I should have gone to see the movie or not. I closed my eyes for several parts of the movie to ensure that I didn't get overwhelmed, and it was a bummer that I had to do that but I had to keep myself safe.
My question to all of you... Do you think it's worth it to see a great movie if it means you might have a seizure? Did any of you actually HAVE a seizure during Breaking Dawn? Tell me in the comments, on Twitter, or on Facebook!
The video below explains why those scenes caused seizures in people with Epilepsy:
