Well, folks... It's been a tough few days starting off this new week. My seizures switched, yet again, and are now starting off around 5:00 PM and do not give up until 11:00 AM. Not much of a rest period, if you ask me. But hey, you get what you get and you don't throw a fit, right?

The thing that is probably pissing me off the most is my memory. I feel like it doesn't even exist 50% of the time. It is so embarrassing going to one of your mother's work parties, and not even being able to finish a sentence when people attempt to make small talk with you. I wanted to step outside and punch myself for forgetting my own doctor's name and the words "skeptical," "operation" and "prefer"! It just slips out of my mind the moment I need to say it. This happens because of the brain damage and the AED's.
Saturday night I attempted to get back into my exercise (jogging/running) in spite of the seizures. I had to take about a 1.5 week break due to the cedar allergies, but I decided that they're never going to stop so I might as well get used to all of it. (Laughs) The jogging started out really nice... Aside from having a seizure at EVERY corner, the entire night. Nonetheless, I sucked it up and kept on going. (Somehow... I must be Superwoman, right?)
The real problem was when I started running past the hills. All the cedar trees really kicked me where it hurt. I started spitting up snot (sorry for the sicko details... but this is my blog, so why not?) the entire way home. There's probably a bit of my snot in everybody's driveway in our entire neighborhood. So embarrassing... And not because of the snot. Because I sneeze louder than a jet plane!
I had a pretty large seizure Sunday evening. It wasn't tonic clonic, but it was right on the edge of becoming one, yet it didn't fully develop. It was so interesting too. I had this odd urge to clean. Yes, you read right. I had an urge to clean! I scrubbed the kitchen more than it has been scrubbed in the last two years! I did all the dishes by hand, no dishwasher. Swept the floor and mopped it. Cleaned the counters until they sparkled! I even had time to make a Tastefully Simple Absolutely Almond Pound Cake. Almost burnt it, but it was delicious. If you'd like to try one, click HERE to order one! Orders from now through January 31st go toward my brain surgery next month!
But why? I honestly don't know, but 99% of me thinks it was one of those surges of energy that one experiences right before a seizure. You know, when you feel good enough to run a 5k (even though you haven't rolled off of the couch to put away the potato chips yet). I actually tend to get those, but never realize exactly what they are until it is just too late. I either wake up with the EMS or looking around wondering what just happened and what my name is.
After the seizure stopped, I still went to church. I hardly made it through, but I made it and I suppose that's all that counts.
Until next time,
God bless!
